How AJHQ Hinted That Owls Would Be Members-Only

Jambo Jamaasians!

Recently owls have arrived in the game and they have caused quite the controversy over whether or not they deserve to be members-only Diamond Shop animals or not. I and many others thought that the owl, being the third bird in the game and the second flying animal, would be available for all Jammers.

And I think it's safe to say that this was the initial reaction when most, if not all, Jammers found out it was in the Diamond Shop.

But what if AJHQ hinted that nonmembers wouldn't be trying out the first released animal of the year? What if all these subliminal messages pointed in the right direction? It sure doesn't seem impossible. Let me clarify...

Not so long ago, AJHQ released a seasonal adventure by the name of Special Delivery.

Like their previous seasonal adventures, this one is centered around a holiday, Valentine's Day. In Jamaa it's called the Friendship Festival. The one thing that stuck out about this adventure was that it featured an unreleased animal, an owl that goes by the name of Rose.

AJHQ has never done this before, and it took many Jammers by surprise that AJHQ would preview a new animal so early, especially considering Rose shows off her dance moves.

Not to mention the gold (members-only) nametag, even though all non-playable characters don it. AJHQ even mentioned on their blog in their last Diamond Challenge how they're putting together some owl surprises.

Maybe the surprise was that these would be members-only Diamond Shop animals.

My theory is, this whole thing was a sneak peek for nonmembers. You first see an unreleased animal weeks prior its release. Not only that, the animal shows off an action, and has a gold nametag. Maybe it was AJHQ's way of letting nonmembers know that they wouldn't be able to get this animal.

To me, the owl isn't much different from the Eagle. They can fly and play the Forgotten Desert adventure. They can also access Royal Ridge.

What do you think? Do you think AJHQ intentionally hinted that owls would be members-only animals, or was this all a coincidence? Comment below, I'd love to hear from you!

Have fun, be safe, and game on!
